Huge thanks to the team at Retrovive; professional, timely, knowledgeable and did a great job. Our downstairs has been cold for a long time due to lack of insulation... we’re already feeling the benefit of our new insulation and couldn’t be happier with the result or working with Retrovive.

Really impressed with the work carried out on my floors, the guys who came where super tidy and quick and I can already feel the benefits underfloor. The system they use is so minimally invasive. I would highly recommend.

Made a massive difference to our cold north facing ground floor rooms with suspended floorboards... We tried everything before Retrovive: cavity wall insulation; reflective foil underlay; insulated wall paper (!); redid the loft and roof insulation - none of it made a difference but the underfloor insulation fixed it.

Honestly, I've never experienced such proactive, attentive and informative communication from another company before. The installer on the day was fantastic, explaining what he was doing, asking us questions and showing us the work as he went along. Such a good team. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
-
We lift just a few boards to hang our breathable membrane under the whole floor. Then we blow in our cellulose fibre insulation which packs between the joists, filling the gaps for a warm, draught-free floor.
Will this cause major disruption?
-
No. We only require that the rooms are cleared of furniture before our installers arrive. Because we don't need to lift the whole floor we can often insulate a room in a single day - and we tidy up afterwards!
What is your approach to ventilation and damp?
-
We keep the original ventilation below the underfloor insulation to avoid damp problems. We also remedy any existing issues with blocked airbricks - it's all part of the job!
How much does it cost?
-
Most projects fall in the £2,000 to £5,000 range, depending on size and complexity. Share the address and a few details and we’ll confirm suitability and provide a clear quote, backed by our 25-year guarantee.
What are the alternatives?
-
Other approaches either require the whole floor to be removed, or good access from below. Retrovive gives a guaranteed result, developed by experts, with minimal disruption and safe, sustainable materials.
Do you cover my area?
