Made a massive difference to our cold north facing ground floor rooms with suspended floorboards... We tried everything before Retrovive: cavity wall insulation; reflective foil underlay; insulated wall paper (!); redid the loft and roof insulation - none of it made a difference but the underfloor insulation fixed it.

How underfloor insulation works
Cold air provides important ventilation under your floor but, without insulation, it sucks heat out of your home and makes your floors cold
From Victorian times to the mid-20th century, houses in the UK were built with a space under the floor to isolate the rooms from the damp ground. This space is kept ventilated by airbricks, which means cold outside air is blowing everywhere underneath, just a floorboard-thickness beneath your feet.
This presents two problems:
Firstly, any warmth in your floorboards is simply lost to the cold air beneath, making your floor feel cold and impossible to heat. Carpets quickly lose their warmth to the floorboards they are in contact with.
Secondly, floorboards themselves do not create an airtight seal, sending chilly draughts up into the room. If you imagine adding all the gaps in your floor together it would be equivalent to having a whole floorboard missing. That’s a very large, draughty hole - like having a window open all the time!
Retrovive insulation keeps the cold below and your house warm
We insulate your floor by packing insulation tightly below the floorboards, preventing heat loss from the room and completely eliminating those cold draughts.
Firstly we fit a ‘breathable’ membrane below the floor joists at the right depth to hold the insulation and then we fill between the joists with our high-performance cellulose-fibre insulation. This is blown in under pressure to pack it tightly into all the corners.
We are careful to keep the ventilation airgap below the insulation, as shown below. This is still important to make sure the damp ground remains isolated from the room and timber floor as before.
